Research Opportunities

Applications for Fall 2026 are open.

Fill out the YDDC Lab Undergraduate Research Assistant Application

We are looking for undergraduate research assistants to join our team this semester. We currently have three active studies, and RAs will have the chance to contribute across one or more of them:

  • The Fordham University Sleep Study (FUSS) – An NIH-funded longitudinal study tracking sleep, stress, and health from first-year orientation through graduation.

  • Adult Development After the Post-College Transition (ADAPT) Study – A study following Fordham seniors through 2 years post-graduation to understand how well-being and resources shift during the post-college transition.

  • Comparing Human vs AI Talks (CHAT) Study – A study examining how people experience AI chatbot conversations and how these relate to mental health and relationships.

RAs will be involved in data collection and management, including in-person lab visits and/or Zoom sessions with participants, and will participate in weekly lab meetings to gain hands-on research experience in psychology. We’re looking for students who are reliable, self-directed, and have strong communication skills. Prior research experience is a plus but not required.

Students must commit 10 hours per week for a minimum of 2 semesters and will be joining a large and diverse lab of undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
